Annie:
Hello Rachel! I was wondering what church you attend? I see religious themes on your blog but I was curious as to what church you actually attend.
Denise:
What a wonderful gift of a freezer!Right now we can't really have a garden where we live due to flooding problems although we have considered rice! LOL! I like the graphics you create! You do them on Irfanview? Never heard of that. I make some really simple stuff on PSP but nothing really complicated. Not sure how to and never have the time to experiment.
Storm:

Prayer for today:May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 (NIV)
Joanne Troppello:
Hi. Your profile mentions that some of your likes are herbology and natural healing. I have started to get interested in those topics as well. My husband and I currently shop at Wholefoods for organic food and we are trying to eat healthier. Are you aware of any natural healing books that are pretty detailed and by a well respected author? I'm in the market to buy something like that.

Hi Rachel ----------------------------------- Have a super day !!!
Please take a moment to view this hard-hitting TV ad warning about the dangers of implementing a government-run health care system.

Chamber rips Senate healthcare bill The U.S. Chamber of Commerce formally warned lawmakers Tuesday that it intends to oppose an early version of healthcare reform legislation unless wholesale changes are made. Read more here.
The Baucus ObamaCare bill is fatally flawed and unacceptable:
READ THE UNION HEALTH-CARE LABEL The Senate version opens the door to implement forced unionization schemes pursued by former Govs. Rod Blagojevich of Illinois in 2005 and Gray Davis of California in 1999. Both men repaid tremendous political debts to Andy Stern and his Service Employees International Union (SEIU) by reclassifying state-reimbursed in-home health-care (and child-care) contractors as state employees—and forcing them to pay union dues. Read more here.
Here are a few of the worst aspects of the current health care plan:
1. It creates a "Public Option" — It's hard to compete with "free."
This is a government run health care plan similar to Medicare that would compete with private insurers. Most middle class Americans will not be able to afford the increased tax burden forced upon them in order to subsidize the "public option," in addition to their own private plan premiums. Taxing private insurance will drive up costs stripping consumers of the freedom to choose government-free insurance and will they be forced into the initially "cheaper" public plan.
2. The Plan Is Not "Free" — Americans Cannot Afford Another $1 Trillion Tax Increase.
over ten years to insure only 16 million of the estimated 50 million "Americans" including 12-20 million illegal aliens who are currently uninsured. This estimate is very conservative and does not even consider proposed Medicaid expansion, the actual cost of the "public option," the cost of employer mandates, the administrative costs of implementing the proposed program, and the effects on spending for other federal programs.
3. It Imposes "Employer Mandates" — Government Mandates Thwart Jobs Creation.
American businesses are having a difficult enough time keeping their doors open, the government should not be imposing excessive costs on employers, making it more expensive than ever to hire new workers by mandating that employers provide a certain level of insurance for their workers or be assessed fines. This tactic incentivizes employers to drop their employees' pricey health plans and simply pay the less expensive fine, leaving many Americans without insurance and left with the limiting, government-run plan.
4.It requires "Individual Mandates" — Government Should Not Determine How Much Insurance You Must Buy.
Every American would be required to buy a policy that meets certain minimum requirements. Thus, a healthy young person who rarely uses his insurance policy would be required to buy a more expensive policy or else they'll be punished with hefty fines. When people are required to pay for more insurance than they need or want, they will seek to get their money's worth, which will put even more demand on an already overextended system and will further drive up costs.
5.Health Care Decisions Should be Between You and Your Doctor — Not Government Bureaucrats.
Part of the plan to "manage care" involves "Comparative Effectiveness Research," a method by which government bureaucrats will determine the most cost-effective treatments and will mandate those treatments. In meetings with the American Medical Association, President Obama indicated that Comparative Effectiveness Research would be a defense for doctors against frivolous malpractice lawsuits. Meaning, doctors would be forced to use one-size-fits-all government-prescribed treatments, and patients would have no recourse if those treatments fail or harm them. Please note, Obama and his liberal allies are peddling this to the American people as tort reform, but it is no more than a cheap knock-off that further limits both doctors' and patients' freedom. Do not be fooled, this is NOT tort reform.
6. ObamaCare is a simply a bloated HMO program. This plan is deliberately designed so that over time, your only health care option is the government option!
Think about how unpleasant a trip to the DMV or any government office is and how frustrating all government bureaucracies are. Imagine having to wait and wade through even more extensive red tape to deal with health care concerns. Limited resources will inevitably lead to long waits and health care rationing.
In Massachusetts, America's first experiment with state-sponsored medicine, the average wait to see a family doctor is 63 days, 50 days for a specialist, and for women who believe they might be pregnant often must wait until their second-trimester to see an obstetrician!
Reform in the health care industry is needed, but Obama's and congressional liberals' approach will only further contribute to the problems that already exist. Rather than instituting a government-run option and decreasing healthy competition in the private sector, Congress should be considering ways to increase much-needed competition within private industry that drive costs down!
We need to overwhelm our congressmen's offices with contacts opposing this legislation that has the potential to devastate America's health care system, which is currently the finest in the world. Faithful activists like you helped defeat HillaryCare in 1993, and we need your help again. Legislators need to hear overwhelming cries against this radical, rushed-through legislation which will directly affect every American's health care.
7. The proposed healthcare bill includes funding for abortion.
8. The bill includes includes billons for 'parks, paths' and other pork.
