Thanks for coming!

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than the facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company; a church; a home. The remarkable thing is, we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past...we cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you...We are in charge of our attitudes." (Charles Swindoll)

Happy Easter !
I hope you visited the website and saw the awesome stuff that is going on--especially the brochure! Thanks for the prayers and concern too.
At least the ceiling fan is going full blast as I enjoy today off with sunshine no less!!!!! Yesterday was nice too. A little cloudy but no rain to prevent me from getting out in the front yard and cleaning up from fall/winter. The front flower bed is re mulched with red cedar shavings. (These are really fine ones that are so easy to apply, soft to the touch). The red color looks so nice around the newly budding green stalks that will bloom later into various Lilies.
I reformatted my PC last night, re installed the drivers, my anti-virus, updated the anti-virus, and am in the process of re installing needed programs. My Outlook Express is only configured to download one account, and while I backed up all my emails, and Favorites, I think I will let it remain on the back up disk. It's kind of nice to have everything pristine and clean again. I am not going to restore any picture files either that I don't need to use. I started out with three different desktop users. Now I am down to one, possibly two. Sidney may or may not want his very own desktop. He isn't much into computers yet, and I ain't gonna rush him LOL. He enjoys playing Runescape online, but he doesn't seem to care to play every day.
Slowly but surely I am getting my very disorganized house back ot where it should be. Lots of things have been packed up to go into storage at Mom's. Then I am going to tackle my storage building and get rid of stuff. I have things that have been packed away for several years, and if I haven't needed it before now, I don't need it at all. Out it goes!
I am seriously thinking of making a bedroom into a computer room. That would get the desk out of the living room, and give me more living room space. Something I desperately need. I wish I had more room for plants. So many times I have given plants away because there simply was not room. Lucky for the recipient but not for me LOL.
My heirloom veggie seeds finally were placed into peat pots yesterday. I think I have waited too late for the onions, but the others should be fine. We are going to have very cold temps again next week, so I didn't plant any seeds directly into the ground. We will have two gardening spots this year. I am really looking forward to it! And that's another reason to get the building cleaned out. I will be getting a deep freezer and it needs to go into the building for shade and to not take up any room on our back porch. I am not loading up a thing to take anywhere. It will all sit by the road. It can either be gleaned by neighbors, or picked up by the compacter. Doesn't matter which to me as I just want it out of my way LOL.
When I lived in Texas, I was able to frequent a veggie and fruit stand ran by a German couple. (I still think about them and miss them). They grew everything they sold and man was it good stuff! I especially remembered the Isralie melons they grew. They were awesome! So sweet and juicy! Sweeter than even cantaloupe. I found a source for some of those and planted some of those seeds as well. If I can keep the critters out of them, we should later be enjoying those melons.
All of the seeds I ordered were from Heirloom Seeds, online. These are not your modern hybrids or genetically modified seeds. These are the old fashioned goodness we originally had. I ordered cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, sweet peppers, melon and carrot seeds. If we aren't careful, one day we will no longer have the original varities. Thankfully we have a few companies that care about preserving that original goodness, and are working hard to preserve the originals. And not only in veggies, but flowers too. It has been proven that hybrid veggies do not have as much nutrition in them as the original varities do. Some studies are proving that some of those foods may even be unhealthy to the human body and to animals. More research is needed, but the emerging results seem to indicate that they are indeed harmful. Whether it is or not, I like the idea of growing what past generations enjoyed and thrived on for years. I want to taste again that childhood memory.
Oops! Did I just see a hummer fly by? Surely not. Maybe a large bee? It's too early for hummers to come here yet. But that reminds me I need to get my hummer feeders ready. I left one up all winter and it's due for a good soaking and scrubbing. I usually put them away freshly clean and ready for next season. But last year I didn't get to it. Hummers aren't due to show up here til May. But I have seen them during the latter part of April. And it's time to refresh my supply of diatamaceous earth. This is an all natural way to dust plants and broadcast over the ground for insect control. No chemicals, it comes from the earth, and totally non-toxic. If it rains you have to reapply. But that's ok cause I know I won't be adding chemicals to the ground water or earth. If you have never used it or heard of it, you owe it to yourself to Google it and find out about this wonderful bounty from nature. It can even be used indoors on carpets etc. But as with anything, you want to make sure you don't inhale the dust. It is very fine and very soft to the touch. The color can vary some but usually it's an off white color to a pale tan. It isn't expensive either. A great choice if you have children or pets around. I think that would apply to most of us LOL.
You be blessed and time for me to hit the shower!!!!!! So much to still get done today. I think I need to stretch a little too as I am so sore from my labor of love yesterday LOL.
