Annie:
Hello Rachel! I was wondering what church you attend? I see religious themes on your blog but I was curious as to what church you actually attend.
Denise:
What a wonderful gift of a freezer!Right now we can't really have a garden where we live due to flooding problems although we have considered rice! LOL! I like the graphics you create! You do them on Irfanview? Never heard of that. I make some really simple stuff on PSP but nothing really complicated. Not sure how to and never have the time to experiment.
Storm:
Thanks for the comments on Islam in America Rachel. I have been speaking prophetically since 1999 on this issue. I hope others will read your comment and check out the link you left.

Prayer for today:May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 (NIV)
Joanne Troppello:
Hi. Your profile mentions that some of your likes are herbology and natural healing. I have started to get interested in those topics as well. My husband and I currently shop at Wholefoods for organic food and we are trying to eat healthier. Are you aware of any natural healing books that are pretty detailed and by a well respected author? I'm in the market to buy something like that.
corina:

Sevy:
Hi Rachel ----------------------------------- Have a super day !!!
Since President Obama’s national address last week the so-called "news" media have been in attack mode against conservatives—condemning them for resisting Obama’s agenda.
Now it’s time for the “Voice of the People” to be heard.
That’s why Brent Bozell wanted to make certain you were invited to the “Voice of the People” live webcast this evening (Tuesday, February 2) at 8pm ET.
This is an unprecedented opportunity to join with top conservative leaders and tens of thousands of citizens from across America to respond to the President’s State-of-the-Union Address – right from the comfort of your own home!
Hosted by popular conservative talk show host Herman Cain, this “Voice of the People” LIVE webcast features eight of the nation’s top conservative organizations – representing more than 15 million Americans nationwide. A list of participating organizations appears to the right.
Rachel, though the media continue to try to marginalize the conservative voice and intimidate us into silence, it won’t work. We won’t be silent – especially now with such radical change being pushed on our country by the Left!
That’s why it is so important that you attend this historic event.
+ + Get Your Friends and Family Involved
After registering, forward this invitation to 10-15 friends and encourage them to join with you.
Whether alone or with friends, this is the one conservative event not to be missed. We'd like to have as many MRC Action team members participate as possible!
+ + Help the MRC maintain its frontline position in the battle to preserve Free Speech Rights and fight liberal media bias by making a tax-deductible gift today.Thank you!
We have had the prediction of a winter storm for several days now. As usual I didn't give it much heed. Our region is in a valley, and many times, dire warnings came to naught, because the system went around us. So my attitude this time was of complete skepticism. Then on the news last night, all school systems, including the surrounding counties were closing. Now that got my attention. Never do the schools close down before it actually starts. But now they were canceling even before the fact?
But we isn't stupid either. We did make preparations. No panic. Just GOCS. (Good old common sense). Gas for the generator, propane in the tank, and an extra tank filled. An emergency radio with hand crank power capabilities. Food that can be cooked or eaten as is. And extra lamp oil.
It wasn't supposed to start til this afternoon. But it's started already. Extremely fine but heavy sleet for starters. The snow won't be far behind. And this time it isn't just an inch or two that is predicted. Up to twelve for some areas. It only takes an inch to ground us as we are not used to the snow in any amount. We don't live in a predominately tire chain/4 wheel drive area. Northerners we are not.
The internet will be out shortly. The satellite dish will be soon be encrusted. No worries. But know that prayers are being said for everyone's safety, and if you would like to throw in a couple, it would sure be appreciated. Now to go check email while I can. Take care and keep up the good thoughts and comments for Brenda! Be blessed!
I haven't had the time to be here and share with you. But this morning, after getting home from work, I found an email from a dear friend requesting prayers. She has suffered the loss of a family member. The details aren't important. What is important, is that prayers are offered on behalf of her and her family. Please join me in prayers, that God will lift them up and give His abundant peace, as they grieve and mourn their loss. It can be so hard to understand the loss of loved ones, this side of heaven. But those shows of support that we can so freely offer, can mean so very much. Indeed, they are just a small part of God's abundant blessings in our lives. Even during times of tragedy and hurt. After replying to her email, I thought of this video that came into my life a while back. I wanted to post it here for Brenda. Perhaps you too, can benefit from these words of encouragement and support. I love you Brenda!
It's okay. You can replay this video as much as you like. May you feel God's love as you listen. And in memory of the one who has left their loved ones behind, I dedicate the next video to their memory.
And even though you may not know Brenda, or any of her family members, would you please consider leaving her some encouraging thoughts and comforting words in the comment section? I'm sure she would deeply appreciate your efforts and your prayers on her behalf. God will know who you are praying for even if you don't. Isn't that awesome?! Love you Brenda!
For those of you who are afraid to join any patriotic site or organization, here is one simple way you can add your voice for old fashioned values and protection of religious beliefs.
You can go here to read it for yourself, and then learn what you can do after signing the Manhattan Declaration. This is important! So please, read, sign and pray. Then get others involved. It only takes a minute. I promise. Below is the text of the Manhattan Declaration.
The Manhattan Declaration
A Call of Christian Conscience
Christians, when they have lived up to the highest ideals of their faith, have defended the weak and vulnerable and worked tirelessly to protect and strengthen vital institutions of civil society, beginning with the family.
We are Orthodox, Catholic, and evangelical Christians who have united at this hour to reaffirm fundamental truths about justice and the common good, and to call upon our fellow citizens, believers and non-believers alike, to join us in defending them. These truths are:
the sanctity of human life
the dignity of marriage as the conjugal union of husband and wife
the rights of conscience and religious liberty.
Inasmuch as these truths are foundational to human dignity and the well-being of society, they are inviolable and non-negotiable. Because they are increasingly under assault from powerful forces in our culture, we are compelled today to speak out forcefully in their defense, and to commit ourselves to honoring them fully no matter what pressures are brought upon us and our institutions to abandon or compromise them. We make this commitment not as partisans of any political group but as followers of Jesus Christ, the crucified and risen Lord, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Some of you will wonder why all the upset? Some of us are learning about the Constitution and the original form of government. We are also learning about the 14th amendment and how it puts anyone who has registered to vote in direct conflict with the Constitution and original form of government. For those in the process of removing themselves as against the original form of government and back in line with the Constitution, this is really bad. For those of you who haven't started learning about being in rebellion to the Constitution, and would like to learn, you can visit the PAC website and sign up. First and foremost you should get your own copy of THE RED AMENDMENT and start learning how evil the 14th amendment really is. THE RED AMENDMENT is a law expose on the 14th amendment, and you will learn how to get yourself back out of the present defacto form of government that exists in opposition to the Constitution.
Besides, if for no other reason, it takes away our ability to choose for ourselves whether or not to vote. And isn't that what freedom is all about?
COMMENT: Please........DO NOT miss a word of this article and watch the brief Fund video. If this doesn't prompt action, nothing will!! EVERY conservative needs to know and understand what we are up against in November. To be forewarned is to be forearmed!!
Many are puzzled that Democrats persist in ramming unpopular and destructive legislation down our collective throats with no apparent concern for their plummeting poll numbers. A widespread belief is that the Democrats are committing political suicide and will be swept from one or both houses of Congress with unprecedented electoral losses next November. But since Democrat politicians rarely do things that will not ultimately benefit themselves, this column asked two weeks ago, "What do they know that we don't?"
We may have found out. It's called universal voter registration. The Wall Street Journal's John Fund described the Democrat plan recently at a David Horowitz Freedom Center forum. Watch the video here.[scroll down]
Fund describes the proposal as follows:
In January, Chuck Schumer and Barney Frank will propose universal voter registration. What is universal voter registration? It means all of the state laws on elections will be overridden by a federal mandate. The feds will tell the states: 'take everyone on every list of welfare that you have, take everyone on every list of unemployed you have, take everyone on every list of property owners, take everyone on every list of driver's license holders and register them to vote regardless of whether they want to be ...'
Fund anticipates that Congress will attempt to ram this legislation through, as with the health care bill. What a surprise! Fund covers the vote issue at greater length in his book
, How the Obama Administration Threatens to Undermine Our Elections.
Leftist groups are already arguing that universal voter registration will solve all the problems with our voting system. But the left created most of these problems. The radical leftist Nation Magazine, for example, absolutely loves the idea of universal voter registration. This is the same magazine, however, that advanced Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven's Manufactured Crisis strategy. The Cloward/Piven strategy was designed to undermine government institutions by overwhelming them with impossible demands for services. Cloward and Piven focused on welfare, housing, and voting as the main targets of this strategy, and the radical group ACORN was specifically created for the purpose of executing it.
The Nation article enthusiastically lists Cloward/Piven-inspired organizations like Project Vote, the ACORN group where President Obama cut his teeth. It also discusses the left's efforts to push enforcement of the Motor Voter law and explains how universal voter registration could assist in these efforts. Cloward and Piven were the ones who crafted Motor Voter legislation in the early 1980s and pushed for its enactment until 1993, when President Clinton signed it into law.
Cloward and Piven considered Motor Voter to be their crowning, lifetime achievement. The picture at right, from White House photo archives, shows Cloward (light gray suit) and Piven (green coat and navy dress) standing directly behind Clinton at the Motor Voter signing ceremony.
The left has predictably launched vicious smear attacks against John Fund for bringing universal voter registration to our attention. A Google search of the issue brings up any number of nasty ad hominem attacks. Most notable is Media Matters, the leftist group whose sole purpose seems to be to smear Republicans and defend the left's indefensible policies. They put up this gem: "Right-Wing --- Weasel John Fund Doesn't Like Universal Voter Registration because of ACORN."
The problems with universal voter registration are numerous and obvious. Many states' lists include vast numbers of illegals, including some states which allow illegals to obtain drivers licenses; because many homeowners have more than one home, there will be duplicates; because so many people are on so many separate federal and state government agency lists, there will be duplicates; and because so many lists exist with little or no cross-checking capability, all of these duplicates are likely to go uncorrected. Add to this the fact that Dems hope to extend voting rights to felons, and the whole thing begins to look like a nationwide Democrat voter registration drive facilitated by taxpayers.
I just had to quickly post another tag for you that I just finished. it's called "Snow Queen" and I hope you like it. Snag away!!!!
On a side note; It doesn't look as though I will make it into work tonight after all. Bummer! I really wanted to drive in the snow. If I could make it to the highway I would be okay.. But I have several miles of back roads with huge hills and steep descents. Our roads have not been treated and already have close to an inch. Travel advisories are filling the airwaves, with some roads already being blocked off in areas. I'm amazed my internet is still up. Rats on missing work. Truly. No tongue in cheek here. It will snow almost all night with a 50% chance of more tomorrow. It is distressing to know that a lot of people will probably be missing from work tonight, which really puts a heavy burden on those who do manage to make it in. I know how that feels and it is upsetting to know my absence will be an extra burden. I hate to feel I have let anyone down. But it isn't worth wrecking my car or endangering my well being. Enjoy being with family and friends tonight. Now I'm off for some online bill paying.
Well so much for global warming LOL. The snow that has been much forecasted has just started. Tiny little flakes for the most part, but because of the below freezing temps we have had for several days, every tiny flake is sticking and staying. While it isn't unusual to see snow a couple of times during Winter, it is unusual to see it lay and know it'll be around for a while. Yippee!!! For those of you who have more than your share, it may be hard for you to understand the delight felt over the possibility of fields of white.
As a kid growing up, I can remember some righteous snows that we could actually make snow cream and build snowmen out of. "Course they have only predicted 1-3 inches here. Not much really. But the schools have let out early, roads are sanded, and you would be lucky to find a gallon of milk or loaf of bread in the stores. And yours truly works tonight. And I fully plan on making it in to work. Driving in pure snow is fun and a wonder to behold. There shouldn't be any ice underneath, as we have had no rain preceding these unusually cold temps.
It also means I will lose the internet for a time, as snow covers the ability to send and receive satellite signals. Our backup heat and lighting sources are in place, and even the generator is standing by to keep essentials up and going in the event of a power failure. I feel richly blessed in a multitude of ways.
Still it would be even nicer to see huge flakes coming down as it did a couple of weeks ago. It was too warm to accumulate to any degree, and it quickly all melted away. For now, though I am going to go play for a short while on the net while I can. Get a few emails answered, and figure out what to fix for dinner. Most folks around call it "supper", and that's fine too. Dinner or Supper. We will be eating and that's just fine by me. I'm currently savoring a hot cup of homemade Mocha. Short of getting to a Starbucks, it's the next best thing. There is even real whipped cream in a can or some tiny marshmallows in the pantry. But I'm good. Plain Mocha is awesome all by itself.
And I have a coup;le more Winter themed tags to upload here for you to snag if you wish. Enjoy and be blessed!
I just now had to delete one of the tags in the earlier post. In the tag, "I Love Snow", I used the art of Suzanne Woolcott. Her artwork is not free, and it is required that her copyright and my personal license code be on any tag made. I had neglected to put that on there, so I deleted it and am re-uploading it here. Sorry 'bout that!
I knew if I didn't tell you now, I might not get it said in time. LOL Kind of like not telling you Merry Christmas before the big day. I really meant to. Promise. I even made some snags for you. But alas I wasn't able to get here during the hectic season. You were in my thoughts always and I wondered how you were dealing with the stress, preparations, shopping, budget woes and most especially the dreaded wrapping of those precious gifts, and the timely mailing of Christmas cards. And then there is the making of goodies and the holiday meal.
I do so hope you had a wonderful Christmas!!!! We had a super holiday and are still enjoying all the blessings. Being able to pick Gene up at the airport for Christmas together was too amazing for words. It was the icing on the cake to have him here with us!!!!! My thoughts were never far away from all the military personnel unable to be with their families this year. It made Gene being here all the more special.
Our Christmas Eve celebration at Mom's was super! She always makes everything so pretty and festive. Her food is always delicious, and we are never to go home without containers of delicious leftovers like ham, and other goodies. This year we bought only for the kids and played White Elephant gifts for the adults LOL. Mine was a delicious nutritious box of chocolate candy LOL. I haven't opened it yet, but I will. My motto is to never leave one crumb behind! Besides, I'm still working on the candy that Santa Dillard left in my sock. Knowing how much I adore Ande's Mints, he included a box of Ande's Mint Cookies. Yummers! Santa Dillard also blessed me with a snuggle wrap, and a food saver system which I had long wanted to try out. Some women might be insulted for gifts such as those, but I am ecstatic! Being cold- natured is a standing joke at my house and I won't have to keep getting out a blanket for being cozy on the couch. Now I have a soft snuggle wrap!!!!! I loved the old fashioned design and liked it even better than the "as seen on TV" brand. It has a zipper, and snaps at the bottom. I haven't had a chance to check out my food saver yet. But as sure as I do I will let you know how that went.
Gene has treated me and Sidney to MagicQuest in Pigeon Forge. Sidney had already been there once before, but there are several activities you can do there. We went through the mirror maze which was amazing! They give you thin plastic gloves to wear so you won't leave fingerprints on the mirrors. You have to hold your hands out in front of you so you won't accidentally walk into a mirror. It can look exactly like a long hallway in front of you, but in reality it's a dead end of a mirrors. It's easy to get lost so if you are witha group, sta together! The mirrors will make several life like images of the other person and you can't tell the mirrored image from the real person LOL. It was great fun and I definitely hope to get to go back one day. here is a YouTube video of a Mom with her kids.
Then we went upstairs to the MagicQuest section. You pick out your wand, which is yours to keep and re-use on subsequent visits. There are several quests or adventures you can pick. I did a couple of quests in which I had several objects to find and "collect". When you find your object in one three areas, you simply point your wand, give it a little shake, and the object lights up and talks to you. If it was an item on your quest. it is added to your collection. There were three areas to explore, the woods, the village, and the Dragon's Lair. It was loads of fun and yes, I still have my wand!!!! Next time we are taking Dillard with us, even though it probably isn't his cup of tea, he will have fun. I promise!!!!
While I didn't manage to get tags to snag uploaded before Christmas I will upload them now anyway. You can always save them for next year. My abject apologies for them being late.
And here is one that won't be late. Just in time for a Happy New Year!!!!
